Homepage | Where I've Been | Some of My Favorite Photos

My Travel Resources

My Tours | 1,000 Places | Email Me

During my travels and meeting new friends, and when the conversation turns to travel, I am regularly asked what my favorite country is.  My response is always the same - the next one.  (I stole this line from an 80-year-old owner of a family vineyard who was asked what her favorite glass of wine was; her response was perfect - “the next one”)

However, I do have special memories of a number of places I have visited and events that I experienced.  Although my list is not as comprehensive as Patricia Schultz’s 1,000 Places to See Before You Die (which I use to get ideas of what to see and do when I travel) the listed places, in no particular order, bring a smile to my heart when I think about them.  This list will also never be completed.  Some special places are buried deep in my subconscious.  I should have started this list 30 years ago.  I will add to the list as I go through boxes of memories, photos and T-shirts.  And of course, there are always new places to visit and experiences to live.
